Big Mike is a load hauling pack, suited for winter adventures, reaching alpine goals and packrafting trips.
The main part of the carrying system are the two tubular aluminium stays. These are light, stiff for their weight and still shapeable. They are configured in a slight V-taper, bringing structure only where it is needed most, firmly connecting the hip belt and load lifters. They are anatomically shaped and can be removed from their sleeves and even flipped for a different lumbar angle. At the bottom they terminate on a load distribution plate, which further integrates the stays with the pack and along with the taper provide some horizontal structure.
The hip belt is well padded and is progessively stiffened towards the center, where is it mounted underneath the lumbar pad. The hip belt is both wider and stiffer than on the Morado to better handle heavier loads. The two shapes do the heavy lifting in terms of mathcing the contour of your body and the dual pull forward adjusters allow you to fine tune both the fit and pressure.
The shoulder straps too are well padded (15mm total) and available in different shapes in order to truly accommodate different body shapes. They feature daisy chains and a removable sternum strap.
The pack also features a sit pad integrated as back padding.
The comfortable carrying range is up to 25kg.

Your choice of either a front pocket or full length daisy chains on the front.
Your choice of side pockets. Regular-sized pockets for bottles, trekking and tent poles. Tall pockets for securing and protecting taller items like a tent.
For the pockets there’s both Ultragrid and Cordura options. Ultragrid and 330D Cordura are more supple and suited to general and winter use. 500D Cordura is stiffer and suited to demanding non-winter use.
Straps
Four daisy chains on the pack body. Two shorter daisy chains are always towards the back panel. There’s either matching short daisy chains above the side pockets in the case of a front pocket or full length ones when there is no front pocket.

The roll top has both buckles and a plastic strip for easy rolling.
Measurements
The internal volume is the maximum usable capacity in the main compartment with 3 rolls on the rolltop. Pockets add up to 12L external capacity.

Notes
The pack is constructed from waterproof 2-layer or 3-layer laminates and sewn with binding tape. This construction is highly weather-resistant and tough, but not fully waterproof. A pack liner is always recommended for full waterproofing.
